10 Incredible Promises To Single Moms From God
Growing up I never thought that I was going to be a single mom; it just wasn’t in my plan. But as we learn and grow, our plans don’t always go our way. Things change and we have to learn to accept and adapt to those changes in our lives. You don’t always know what is going to happen in the future, or where your life is headed. There is one thing for sure though; my faith in God will never change.
I became a born-again, Bible-believing Christian before I got pregnant with my daughter, and I am glad that I did because I was saved before she was born and so I had God with me throughout this entire journey. For me, this is the best thing about being a single mom. My faith in God has allowed me to become closer to Him whilst also finding my purpose in life and acknowledging the fact that His way is far greater and more important than my own way and plans in this world.
Time and time again we see throughout the Bible various different scriptures that state that God is always there for us and will provide for us. There are many biblical truths that God provides for single moms. He cares for us and loves us, especially for single moms.
Here are 10 incredible promises to single moms from God:
1. Worth
Galatians 2:20 – “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me”.
Our worth is found in Christ alone. It is not found in the identity of any other human being; it is found in our Lord and Savior. Even if you feel alone, afraid or unsure of yourself, just know that Christ lives within you and He is the foundation for your worth.
2. Peace
John 16:33 – “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”.
There is so much peace in your life once you allow God into it. Even when there is chaos (when being a single mom), God promised that He will always be there for us. No matter what is going on in our lives, He told us to not be afraid and to turn to Him for help.
3. Maturity
1 Corinthians 14:20 – “Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men”.
There is a sense of maturity once you become a mother. You start to grow up and learn new skills, as you are now taking care of another human being. Your family has expanded, and your responsibilities have increased.
4. Wisdom
James 1:5 – “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him”.
God provides us with the wisdom and understanding that we need, especially as single moms. Turn to Him and pray to Him for help and support. No matter how big or small your struggle is, He will always be there for you.
5. God Promises To Single Moms His Love
1 John 4:16, 19 – “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. We love him, because he first loved us”.
The real definition and understand of love is from God, for God is love. He truly loves us single moms and will always be there for us and our children. God has shown us what true unconditional, everlasting love is through the sacrifice that His son, Jesus made on the cross for us. Throughout all of our lives, and our children’s lives, He is showing us what true love is and how we should show that same kind of love to our families.
6. Strength
Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness”.
If you are feeling weary, and want to give up, just know that God will provide us with the strength that we need to carry on for our strength comes from Jesus Christ alone.
7. Support
Psalm 54:4 – “Behold, God [is] mine helper: the Lord [is] with them that uphold my soul”.
As a single mom, you feel as though there is less support because there is no father involved. But that’s okay, because God OUR Father said that He will provide for us and support us with our needs.
8. God Promises To Single Moms That There Is Hope
Romans 15:13 – “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost”.
In Christ alone, all hope is found. When we are lost, He leaves the 99 to save us. When we are feeling down, or are struggling, He lifts us up in His glory. When we are saved, Jesus provides us with hope for our future, and our lives into eternity. Becoming a new mom, and a single mom too, has given me new hope for who I am, and where my life is heading.
9. Patience
Isaiah 40:31 – “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint”.
Romans 8:25 – “But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it]”.
Patience is absolutely important when being a mom, but there is a lot of struggle! I totally get it. God tells us to be patient and to trust Him. I have learned over the past few years to be more patient with the decision-making, and to never rush anything. Time goes by so quickly as it is, even more so when you have children, so be patient, live in the moment and enjoy all that you have going for you.
10. God Promises To Single Moms Provision
Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”.
God will not abandon you or leave you to suffer; He promised the exact opposite. Not only does He provide for our spiritual needs, but will also provide for our emotional/mental, physical and financial needs too.
