10 Powerful Things Christian Women Need To Wear Daily
As you start your journey as a born-again Christian, you soon realize that the Christian walk is an uphill battle. We are in a spiritual battle on the daily. There are strongholds we need to break free from, and important life lessons to learn.
We learn that we are not alone in these battles; God is always with us. He gives us the strength to endure all hardships.
God also teaches us in His Word about who we are, what our purpose is and what He expects from us, too. As Christian women in the faith, God has created each and every one of us with a unique plan and purpose in our lives. We represent the light of Christ in this dark world.
What Does God Expect Christian Women To Wear?
There are many tools that God has given us to fight and win these spiritual battles, as well as helping us grow and mature in the faith. These tools are like items of clothing that we need to wear each day.
This goes beyond dressing modestly; it is all about our thoughts and behaviors towards others. We are children of God and should be representing Christ in a powerful, spiritual way. It is more than just dressing modestly to please God; it is about how we choose to speak and act towards others, our neighbours. It is about not letting these strongholds win over us. It is about walking in the spirit, actively denying the desires of the flesh on the daily.
Philippians 2:13 – “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure”.
Being a Christian is not easy because of the daily struggles we all face. But if we fully surrender to God and allow Him to work in us, we can become the perfect vessel that God can use for His Will and His glory.
Romans 12:1 – “ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”.
Here are 10 Powerful Things Christian Women Deed to Wear Daily:
-
The Full Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-18 – “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
We are in a spiritual warfare each day. But God has given us the perfect tools to help us win these battles against the principalities and rulers of darkness. When you look at Ephesians 6, the Bible mentions all different parts of the armor of God that we should be putting on each day. Christian women need to wear the full armor of God to win spiritual battles, break down and destroy strongholds and win over sin.
2. The Fruits of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”.
The fruits of the spirit mentioned in Galatians 5 are 9 attributes that Christian should have. These qualities are led by the Holy Spirit. Christian women should wear the fruits of the spirit. We have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us, and so we need to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us on how we are to be as Christian women.
When you look at each ‘fruit’, these are all beautiful, Godly characteristics that we should have.
3. The Love of Christ
Matthew 22:37-39 – “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”.
Matthew 5:44 – “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
It is so important to have and show the love of Christ towards others. Jesus tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to even love and pray for our enemies. Without love, we are nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2).
4. Kindness
Ephesians 4:32 – “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you”.
We should be kind towards one another. This goes hand-in-hand with loving our neighbors as ourselves. God does not want us Christian women to be mean, nasty or hateful towards others, especially towards other ladies. It is not in our nature to be so hateful and spiteful towards others. It is an evil jezebel spirit to behave in such an awful way.
There is no need to be jealous or envious of others. We should be supporting other Christian women and lifting them up. We shouldn’t be tearing each other down. Be kind in your actions and words towards others.
5. Forgiveness
Colossians 3:13 – “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye”.
Forgiving others is hard, especially after they have wronged you. But God does not want us to hold grudges. We are commanded to forgive others. This is an important quality for Christian women to wear each day. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. Show the same sort of forgiveness towards others that God has showed towards us.
6. Modesty
1 Samuel 16:7 – “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart”.
Being modest is very important for Christian ladies. It is more than just the outward appearance though. God looks at the heart. He wants us to be modest in how we present ourselves, how we behave towards others and how we glorify God in our actions. Modesty is a lifestyle choice and a mindset, too. It is something that both men and women should strive towards. Modesty for Christian women affects how we live our lives, how we run our household, how we raise our children and how we treat our neighbors. It is about serving and honoring God in all that we do each day. There is no evil, maliceness intents in our actions towards God or others.
7. Humility
1 Peter 5:5 – “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble”.
God does not like it when we are all puffed up and prideful. We are to have a humbling spirit. We put the needs of others before our own. We give God the glory and honor. Being humble means that we acknowledge that are essentially helpless without God. The older you get, the more you will realise that you need God each day. You need His strength, wisdom, guidance and encouragement.
8. Gentle Spirit
1 Peter 3:4 – ““But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price”.
Having a gentle spirit means that you are not anger, bitter, resentful or have any ulterior motives. You truly love your neighbors as yourself, and don’t walk around with a chip on your shoulder. Having a gentle spirit means that you will help others, no matter what. You are kind, thoughtful and gentle in your actions and words. This is an important quality God wants us to have and wear each day as Christian women.
9. Submission
James 4:7 – “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”.
Submission can be hard. Whether it is in a marriage, or in your relationship with Christ. But fully surrendering to God allows us to completely trust in Him in all areas of our lives. Submission in marriage means that we trust our Husband to lead and guide the home in a strong, Biblical way, just like how Christ leads the Church.
10. Fear of God
Proverbs 1:7 – “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction”.
Having a healthy fear of God is important as a Christian. God knows what is and isn’t best for us. When we stray from the path, or fall back into old sin, God will chastise us. When we fear God, we want to do the right thing, and give honor and glory to Him through our actions and words. We don’t want to act out or push Him away to follow our own path. We truly love God and all that He has done for us, and continues to do for us. We humbly enjoy His blessings upon us and want to do everything we can to please Him.
A healthy fear of God also means that we can receive His wisdom and knowledge. We want to be corrected. We happily receive instruction.
Why It Is Important For Christian Women To Wear These Things
These things that I have mentioned that Christian women need to wear each day shouldn’t be an option for us. If we want to serve Christ and follow in His footsteps, then we need to deny ourselves daily, pick up our cross and follow Him. We need to follow His Word.
There are so many amazing scriptures that point us in the right direction on how we are to be as a Christian woman. Don’t turn to the world on how to act, dress, think etc – turn to God.
Commit yourselves to the Lord. Present yourselves as a living sacrifice so that He can work in you. He can do wonderful things through you for His glory and will in your life. Trust God. Wear these different attributes daily.
