The Best Morning Routine For Christian Women
What is the first thing that you do in the morning? Do you check your phone? Do you go get a glass of water? Do you pray? For me, I make sure that I do not touch my phone first thing in the morning unless it is absolutely necessary. When I wake up, I like to brush my teeth and get some cold water and something to eat, then I will sit down at my desk and study the Bible.
Over these past couple of months, God has been waking me up earlier and I have figured out why. I was really consistent with reading and studying the Bible each day, until I slowly started to spend less and less time each day, then each week, doing so. Once I started waking up earlier than usual, I started to figure out why.
God knew that I was spending less time in His Word. He also knew that I needed some sort of motivational push to get back into it again…consistently. That is when I made sure that each and every morning that I wake up, I will start the day by replenishing my soul with the word of God. My desk has been turned into a space where I can peacefully and comfortably sit down and study God’s Word. There is a notebook and pen available for writing notes (I write so many notes!) and I even created my own bookmark so that I know where I finished and where to start from again, the next day.
Now, why am I sharing all of this with you? I want to encourage you all to read your Bible, and stay in God’s Word, daily. Consistency is key. Even if it means God giving you that extra push. It is one of the best things that you can start incorporating into your daily morning routines. Speaking of which…I want to share with you some other great ideas on how to establish a great morning routine that you leave you feeling soulfully replenished, content and ready to cease the day!
Here are some great tips on how to create the best morning routine:
1. Be Prepared By Creating A Plan
Before changing your daily routine, or wanting to create the best morning routine for yourself, be prepared. Plan out what you want to do each morning when you wake up. This will motivate you to go ahead and follow along with said plan. It is just like setting goals.
2. Be Realistic
When I say be realistic, I mean to be prepared to focus on your goals and established morning routine, but also to be prepared incase things don’t go according to plan. There could be some kind of emergency; you might be feeling unwell, and needing to have more rest, or you might be in a hurry to get somewhere. Make sure that you are flexible in your day-to-day routines to accommodate for any kind of sudden changes. I mean, after all that’s life, especially when you have kids!
Another meaning behind being prepared is to prep yourself the night before. Go to sleep earlier. Stop using technology a couple of hours before bed. Have some chamomile tea, or have a nice relaxing bath to relax and unwind. This will encourage you to have a better night’s sleep and be well-rested before the next day begins.
3. Get Up Earlier
Once you start going to bed earlier, and unwinding before going to sleep, you are going to get better rest. Now, you can organize to get yourself up earlier to start the day. When we look at the Proverbs 31 woman, she rises up early to care for her family (Proverbs 31:15-19). If you have children, waking up earlier will encourage you to tend to different chores that you need to do to look after your family. If you do not have children, waking up earlier can encourage you to spend time with God.
4. Start Your Day On A Positive Note
Start your day on a positive note. Start your day with confidence in the Lord. Do not be afraid of what lies ahead. Live in the present, and be content in all things. Wake up feeling happy and refreshed. Change your mindset and motivate yourself to being filled with confidence and excitement for the day ahead. The Proverbs 31 woman has no fear of the future, and rejoices (Proverbs 31:25).
A great way to start your day on a positive note is to practice gratitude, or journaling. This will help you release any kind of negative thoughts or emotions you might be feeling, as well as helping you shift your mindset to a more positive and grateful one. Practicing gratitude and journaling can help you to feel more appreciate of and thankful for what you have and what God has done for you. It is such a great way to start the day!
5. Spend Time With God
As I have shared before, I wake up each morning and spend time with God by studying and reading His Word. This makes me feel so much better, and nourishes my soul. I encourage you to do the same also. Before you touch your phone, or turn on the TV, or do anything else that could distract you for a while, grab your Bible, find yourself a nice, comfortable space, and read the Bible. You can even listen to an audio Bible, or turn on some worship music if you want to listen to the Bible instead, for instance.
Spending time with God is the best thing that you can do each morning!
Why, you may ask? Because we love God, and want to get to know Him. We want to build up our relationship with Him. We also fear Him, which is a good thing because fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and understanding. The Proverbs 31 woman feared the Lord, and she shall be praised (Proverbs 31:30).
Start your new morning routine today! Write out what you want to do in the morning, make sure you get plenty of the rest the night before, wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start the day, and spend time with God by reading the Bible. Trust me, it is going to lift up your spirit and allow you to have a better day!

This is a beautiful vision of how to start your day with God. Unfortunately it’s very different from how I currently start my days! I would love to move closer to this vision in 2021. I’m sure it would have a positive ripple effect through the rest of my day. Thank you for this inspiration and for sharing how to do it.

What a nice read! I seldom see on Facebook pieces like this. Share this to women Christian groups because for sure a lot will get excited reading your pieces. Thank you for this one! Reading this makes me want to start reading bible scriptures daily again.
Very enjoyable post and read! Thank you for sharing.
I am not a morning person at all…but as I get dressed and ready for the day, I listen to my Bible readings on the YouVersion Bible app. Helps set the tone for the day for me. Sometimes I even get to listen to multiple days so I move through the reading plans more quickly.
I also like to wind down in the evening with some Bible reading, too.
Having a routine and quiet time each day is so important. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice article and a great encouragement to stay connected to God and to always communicate with Him not only by reading His words but also by listening and doing His will.
Thank you for the reminders and tips. I have a bad habit of checking my phone because I don’t have a clock in my room. I am going to buy a clock and stay away from my phone first thing. I think getting up for bible study is a great idea. Thank you for the inspiration!
I like to drink a big glass of water, feed my toddler breakfast, and read the Bible! It’s the perfect little morning routine.
This is a great morning routine. I can definitely start doing some of these.
I am super bad at grabbing my phone right away it is definitely something I would like to work on! I think as a blogger/author with an online presence there is a drive to jump into work right away but boundaries are definitely important.
I know I feel like it is almost a habit to grab the phone first thing. Yes boundaries are important!
