How To Be A Proverbs 31 Woman
The Best Tips To Becoming A Proverbs 31 Woman
Proverbs 31 is an amazing chapter in the Book of Proverbs, and even in the entire Bible, because it highlights the important characteristics and virtues that a Christian woman should have. King Solomon, the author of the Book of Proverbs, wrote Proverbs 31 to share the advice that his mother, Bathsheba, had given him when finding a Godly woman (verses 10-31). I have already gone in depth into what Proverbs 31 is all about, here, and even shared my FREE Proverbs 31 study guide, which is an in-depth ebook breaking down each verse of the chapter. I have also written about the main attributes of a Proverbs 31 woman, which you should definitely go and check out (as I also include a FREE printable). But today, I want to share with you the best tips on how to become a Proverbs 31 woman.
Not All Christian Women Will Perfectly Fit The Role Of A Proverbs 31 Woman
Once you have checked out my previous posts, and have read and studied Proverbs 31, you might notice that not every single Christian woman is going to fit each and every one of these characteristics mentioned. And that’s okay! The Proverbs 31 woman is not an actual woman, but rather, an ideal person that a Christian man should want and desire to have in his life as a wife. She is described as a hard-working, generous, compassionate, God-fearing woman, who is married to her husband and has children. She runs her own business, works long hours, donates to charity, has hand-maidens that help her and owns vineyards. Does all of this describe you? No, not necessarily. Not every Christian woman is married, has children, successful, owns a business or is a housewife.
Why Is This The Case?
The world in which we live in today is very progressive. Not everyone who has children is going to be married, not everyone is working for themselves, or takes upon the traditional roles as a housekeeper. Not many people today make their own clothes, or is dressing modestly. Not everyone is charitable or wants to stay at home. Not all Christians are sincere, or put God first in all things in their lives. We need to be realistic. The idea of the perfect Proverbs 31 woman that King Solomon wrote about may NOT describe every single Christian woman today, nor might it ever be. The reason why I say that is okay is because not everyone is going to fit in to this perfect perception of how a Christian woman should be.
Take a look at me for instance. I am a single mother, I have never been married, I do not work long hours, or own my own house or land. I am, however, a mother with a daughter, I do work to provide for her, and I am kind, I am charitable and I do everything that I can to stay strong, honorable and faithful to God. I dress modestly and I love and fear God. There are some characteristics that cannot describe me, whereas most of the other virtues of a Proverbs 31 woman, can. Do you see my point?
That is why I wanted to write about this. I want Christian women to take on board everything that is written in Proverbs 31 and adopt these virtues into their own lives to the best of their abilities. If you are married, but have no children, then make sure that you become the best wife for your husband, that you help provide for the household, look after and are loyal to your husband, and stay faithful to God and fearful of God too. Put God first in your marriage.
If you are a single mother, such as myself, then make sure that you dress and act modestly, you stay faithful to God and to yourself too. Don’t fornicate. Focus on God first, and your children. Provide for your family. Look after your family. Ask God for wisdom and guidance and understanding. Pray for a husband, if it’s God’s Will.

Tip 2: Trust God & Pray Daily
Have complete faith and trust in God alone. Pray to Him and ask Him to guide you to becoming more of a Proverbs 31 woman. Allow Him to help change your life for the better and let Him guide you to do His Will and not your own. Never stop praying. Always believe in what you are praying about and know that God will hear your prayers and answer your prayers in His perfect timing. We need to have complete faith and trust in Him, and what is written in His Word. God will direct our steps.

Tip 3: Adopt New Characteristics
Once you have studied Proverbs 31 and looked into the main characteristics of a Proverbs 31 woman, and you have prayed to God to guide you to do His Will in your life, then you can look into these specific virtues of the Proverbs 31 woman, and pray on them. Pray to become strong, honorable and faithful to God. Pray for a husband, or pray to be the best wife to him. If you want children, then pray for God to open your womb and bless you with children. If you need help or guidance on becoming successful in your work or wanting to stay home and look after the household, or becoming a better mom, a better Christian, a better woman, whatever it is, give it all to God in prayer. Allow Him to help you adopt these characteristics of a Proverbs 31 woman into your life.
Every single night I pray for my Husband. I pray over my household and my child. I make sure that I am following the virtues of a Proverbs 31 woman to the best of my ability, all with the guidance and support of Our Heavenly Father.

Tip 4: Progress Not Perfection
Like I have said before, not all Christian women are going to perfectly fit the role of a Proverbs 31 woman and that is fine! As long as we talk to God about it, and have trust in Him and His word, then progress is better than nothing and progress is better than stressing ourselves out about becoming this perfect example that we may not ever become. I might not get married. Some women might not have children. Some might not want to run their own business, or even have enough money to provide for themselves let alone give to others. This world is different than how it once was when King Solomon wrote Proverbs 31.
The Last Thing You Need To Know About Being A Proverbs 31 Woman
You are loved. You are brave. You are strong. You are beautiful. You are enough. This isn’t a post about becoming the perfect Christian woman or the perfect Proverbs 31 woman. It is about learning what is written in the Bible and seeking out how to adapt it in to our current lives. This is about trusting God and following Him completely. It is about letting God guide us on the path that He has created for each and every one of us, and doing everything that we can to do what His Will is for us.
